A daughter of former South African President Jacob Zuma has been arrested on terrorism charges for allegedly inciting violence during deadly riots that shook the country in 2021.

The daughter of former South African President Jacob Zuma, Duduzile Zuma-Sambudla, has appeared in court on terrorism charges over her alleged involvement in the 2021 riots that left more than 300 people dead.

Sambudla, a daughter of former South African president Jacob Zuma, appeared in court on Thursday after being charged with inciting violence during riots in 2021 in which more than 300 people were killed.

Sambudla's lawyer said she did make social media posts on Twitter related to riots in July 2021 but denied they incited violence.

Sambudla, a member of South Africa’s opposition party uMkhonto weSizwe Party, or MKP will face a court in Durban on Thursday, where she will be charged, the party said in a statement on X
