Garrett Crochet finished off the first half of 2025 with a bang: a complete game shutout to extend the Red Sox' win streak to nine games.
In Crochet's first complete game of any sort, he allowed three hits, all singles, and struck out nine while not allowing a walk. “It’s incredibly satisfying,” he said.
Ceddanne Rafaela hit a go-ahead two-run double as part of a three-run seventh inning and Boston Red Sox earned their season-high seventh straight win, beating the Tampa Bay Rays 4-3.
Hunter Dobbins suffered the injury when he went to cover first base on a ground ball in the Red Sox' win over the Rays on Friday.
Ceddanne Rafaela sat in front of his locker after Saturday’s 1-0 victory against the Rays with his spikes and white uniform pants covered in the brown dirt of the Fenway Park infield. The best center fielder in the American League had changed positions for the first time this season, moving to second base.

Boston Red Sox starting pitcher Hunter Dobbins left Friday’s game against Tampa Bay in the second inning due to right knee pain after making a put-out while covering first base. The 25-year-old right-hander caught a throw from first baseman Abraham Toro before landing awkwardly on the bag to record the second out of the inning.
The Red Sox third baseman was officially activated from the injured list prior to Friday’s game and will bat second in his return against the Tampa Bay Rays. Hunter Dobbins was also activated and will get the start against Tampa Bay’s Drew Rasmussen.
