Gunther submitted Goldberg via rear-naked choke in the main event of WWE Saturday Night's Main Event. This marked Goldberg's last match (for now).

Goldberg had only been speaking for 30 seconds when the show came to an end, with the feed cutting out as the legend was still talking. Thankfully, fans have uploaded video of Goldberg's full speech to the adoring crowd.

Goldberg returned on the June 16 episode of Monday Night RAW to challenge The Ring General to a match at Saturday Night's Main Event in Atlanta. Gunther had previously disrespected Da Man in front of his family during Bad Blood 2024 by calling him a "one-trick pony." The 58-year-old legend has vowed to make Gunther pay for his comments.

Bill Goldberg is set to challenge GUNTHER for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship at Saturday Night’s Main Event XL.

Goldberg speaks on Gunther being his final opponent, noting that it really could have been anyone that disrespected him and his family.
