Retired Sydney radio broadcaster and former Australian national rugby coach Alan Jones has been charged with multiple sex crimes against males over two decades.

Australian police on Monday charged former radio show host Alan Jones with 24 assault and sexual touching offenses, indictments that followed accusations in a newspaper that Jones had assaulted young men for decades.

The retired radio host, who was granted bail after being arrested, was accused of abusing eight victims over nearly 20 years.
