FAA announces 10% decrease in air traffic at 40 “high-volume” airports
The now longest ever government shutdown has air travel strained; with TSA and airport workers going without pay. Starting on Friday, the administration is reducing air traffic at forty of the country’s “highest volume” markets.
Airlines are expected to cancel thousands of flights as the government shutdown drags on. Here’s a preliminary list of affected airports.
"This is about where’s the pressure and how do we alleviate the pressure," Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy said.
