Tim Stutzle scored on a deflection off his skate at 46 seconds of overtime to give the Ottawa Senators a 4-3 victory over the Chicago Blackhawks on Wednesday night. Off a turnover, Stutzle raced deep into the zone and cut across the crease, with the puck striking his skate and going past goalie Arvid Soderblom.

The Chicago Blackhawks could not extend their winning streak to three games, but they did pick up a point in a 4-3 overtime loss to the Ottawa Senators. With the win, the Senators moved ahead of the New York Rangers for the second Wild Card spot in the Eastern Conference.

The Chicago Blackhawks and Ottawa Senators faced off for the first time this season. The Blackhawks were looking to build on a two-game win streak and a goal palooza in which they had scored 16 goals in their last three games.
