Dodgers, Shohei Ohtani pay thanks to firefighters who battled the Palisades Fire
The World Series champions made a $10,000 donation to Fire Station 69 and a separate $350,000 donation to the Los Angeles Fire Department Foundation.
Firefighters, who are also veterans, say military background helped them battle Palisades Fire
"I think that's why veterans make very good firefighters...we're public servants. We go into the military because we love our country and want to serve our country. And then we join a public safety fire and police because we want to still be involved and support our community.
