Alberta’s auditor general is investigating procurement practices in the province’s health ministry after the Globe and Mail reported the government had interfered in those processes, something that if proven true should prompt Premier Danielle Smith to resign,

Nenshi says Smith, as well as Health Minister and Red Deer-North MLA Adriana LaGrange, plus Andre Tremblay, who heads day-to-day operations of the province’s health system, should resign while investigators, the RCMP included, investigate.

Alberta NDP Leader Naheed Nenshi is calling for four investigations and for Premier Danielle Smith to answer questions on what he calls unprecedented allegations of high-level corruption into medical purchases and surgery contracts.
