The Blades took the lead through Tyrese Campbell and had several chances to build on it as Chris Wilder's side were dominant. However, Sunderland struck twice late on as Eliezer Mayenda equalized with less than 15 minutes to go and then substitute Tom Watson curled home in stoppage time to send the Black Cats back to the Premier League as their fans were in dreamland.

Teenager Tommy Watson scored a 95th-minute winner to send Sunderland up to the Premier League, beating Sheffield United in the Championship play-off final at Wembley Stadium. The goal is the 19-year-old's last for Sunderland before he joins Brighton and Hove Albion next season.

The last six teams to get promoted from the Championship have gone straight back down but this year’s Championship play-off winners might just be able to buck that trend
