Nearly 100 employers — ranging from Boise’s Whiskey Bar to east Idaho’s Teton High School — gathered at Gowen Field Thursday morning for the Idaho National Guard’s annual Boss Lift event. For many, it was a first-time glimpse of what some of their employees are responsible for when out of the office.
In a press release sent Thursday, the police union says that the City of Boise will return to negotiations on a new Collective Labor Agreement. This comes after the city approved a CLA in June.
The Boise police and fire departments responded after someone reported seeing a body in a canal at 6:30 a.m. near West Wainwright Drive and North Eagle Road, Boise Police Department spokesperson Haley Kramer told the Idaho Statesman in an email.
Demolition is underway as crews tear up the basketball and tennis courts, remove the bark, and take out the playground equipment. According to Boise Parks and Recreation, Fairview Park’s current features were installed in the 1990s and are beginning to show their age.
"I’m honored to have the record, it is by length of 42 inches and the poundage for Idaho is pretty big," said Aaron Goettsche. "It is like pulling a farm animal out of the water."
