An FBI analyst has testified that DNA sampled from a rifle, as well as multiple other items, found near where President Donald Trump was playing golf in South Florida last year matches that of a man accused of trying to assassinate Trump that day.

EDWARDSVILLE — A Cottage Hills man was charged Wednesday with burglary, in part because DNA on a T-shirt was traced back to him. The 50-year-old suspect was charged Sept. 17 with residential burglary, a Class 1 felony; and resisting a peace officer, a Class A misdemeanor. The Madison County Sheriff’s Department presented the case.
