Real Madrid forward Rodrygo has said he cannot believe that his "idol" Neymar is returning to Santos and wishes to attend the former Barcelona star's unveiling.

Saudi Pro League club Al Hilal announced on Monday that they had reached an agreement with Neymar to terminate his contract and open the door for a return to Santos for the Brazil international.

Brazil superstar Neymar has been surrounded by rumors of going to MLS following an unfortunate stint at Al Hilal in Saudi Arabia. However, it seems he’ll return to where his love for the game started: Santos FC.

The Brazilian attacker ends his time in Saudi Arabia after playing only 7 matches.

According to Fabrizio Romano, negotiations between Santos and Juventus are in an advanced stage, with a purchase option included in the loan. However, the former Barcelona and Liverpool player looks favorably upon his move to the Brazilian team as long as Neymar does the same and returns to play for Peixe.

In an interview with TNT Sports Brasil, Barcelona’s sporting director, Deco, addressed the rumors of Neymar’s potential return to the Catalan club. Speaking after Barcelona’s match against Benfica at the Estádio da Luz, Deco hinted at a different path for the former Blaugrana star.

In the very near future, Neymar Junior will be leaving Al Hilal on loan, although it will effectively be a permanent departure as his contract with the reigning Saudi Pro League champions runs out at
