EAST LANSING – Win a game, take home a title. That’s the clear-cut opportunity facing Michigan State. The No. 8 Spartans play at Iowa on Thursday and a victory would secure at least a share of the Big Ten championship.

Two teams have a chance to win the Big Ten men's basketball title. One is Michigan, but coach Dusty May knows Wolverines are not playing their best.

With another all-around team performance, No. 8 Michigan State basketball enters the final week of the regular season on the verge of a Big Ten title.

USC's JuJu Watkins headlined the All-Big Ten selections and was the player of the year after helping the Trojans win the conference title. Ohio State's Jaloni Cambridge and Michigan's Olivia Olson were named the top freshmen, UCLA's Lauren Betts earned defensive player of the year honors and USC's Lindsay Gottlieb was tabbed the coach of the year.

No. 24 Michigan State (21-8, 11-7) earned a No. 6 seed and first-round bye in the Big Ten Tournament. The Spartans will play the winner between No. 11 seed Iowa and No. 14 seed Wisconsin in a second-round game on Thursday (approximately 9 p.m., BTN) at Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indianapolis.

Michigan and Michigan State's women's basketball teams were well represented on the All-Big Ten teams and postseason honors.

Former Michigan State coach Mark Dantonio has been named to the CFP selection committee, along with Maryland AD Damon Evans, former ESPN writer Ivan Maisel, MTSU AD Chris Massaro and former Ole Miss TE Wesley Walls.

Former Michigan State head coach Mark Dantonio is joining the College Football Playoff selection committee for the 2025 season. Per ESPN's Heather Dinich, Dantonio will be one of the five new members on the 13-person committee this fall.
