Facing pressure from states and families, Roblox will require players to use AI-powered technology that helps verify their age.
Roblox is getting ready to roll out its latest safety feature at a time when it is confronting a growing number of lawsuits from states and families that claim the popular gaming app falsely advertised itself as safe for children.
After users complete the age check process, Roblox will inform them of their assigned age group: U9, 9-12, 13-15, 16-17, 18-20, or 21+. Users will be able to chat with others in their age group and similar age groups, as appropriate. For example:
