Denver Broncos head coach Sean Payton is clearly in a much better place now than he was at the end of the Russell Wilson era.

Payton benched Wilson in December 2023 to keep the veteran healthy so that Denver could eat the largest dead cap hit in NFL history to show the signal-caller the door last March.
