The report comes from the Chinese site 36Kr, which says that Xiaomi has Meta's smart specs firmly in its sights. Its AI-powered glasses will "fully benchmark against Meta Ray-Ban", it claims. This sounds like they'll match or exceed the specification of Meta's product.

Meta announced it is opening up Meta Lab, a pop-up experiential retail space for its Ray-Ban Meta Smart Glasses starting November 8th in Los Angeles. The temporary store will be around through the end of the year and allow customers to try out the glasses and customize their glasses cases as they shop.

While other tech giants like OPPO, Vivo, Huawei, Tencent, and ByteDance are also exploring AI glasses, their projects are reportedly in earlier stages of development. Industry experts predict that these companies may launch their AI glasses closer to late 2025.
