Simmons returned to the Chiefs on Nov. 3, NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reported. At that time, there was nearly two weeks until Kansas City's next game, on Nov. 16. The team played the Bills on Nov. 2, but then had a bye week in Week 10.

"Denver played one of the ugliest offensive games you’ll see on Thursday, but beat the Raiders to get to 8–2 while riding a seven-game winning streak. Next Sunday, the Broncos host the Chiefs in the biggest game they’ve played in a decade," Verderame wrote.

Up next: The Chiefs will play the first-place Broncos on Sunday in Denver, a game that will have greater influence on their chances to win the AFC West than any in the Mahomes era. They trail the Broncos by two losses, and a three-game deficit with just seven to play would be darn near insurmountable.
