At least 17 people have been left seriously injured in a catastrophic chair lift collapse at the Astún ski resort in Spain, with fears dozens more may still be trapped

A ski lift collapsed and injured at least 30 people in the north of Spain on Saturday. Footage shows the carnage following the mechanical malfunction on the device in the Aragon region. Rescue workers can be seen in the video using a ladder up to one chair lift and rescue those who were stuck inside.

Around 20 people have been injured after a ski lift collapsed in a resort on the Pyrenees mountain range. Skiers plummetted to the ground when a cable broke on a chair lift at the Astún ski resort on the Spanish border.
