Carlos Alcaraz and his team had to pull out of all his tricks to be physically ready for his Group Stage match against Andrey Rublev at the ATP Finals on Wednesday.

Carlos Alcaraz opened his account at the ATP Finals on Wednesday with an entertaining 6-3, 7-6 (10/8) win over Andrey Rublev, while Casper Ruud missed an early chance to reach the semi-finals after losing in straight sets to Alexander Zverev.

Alcaraz played well behind the first and second serve, facing no break points and keeping the pressure on the other side. Rublev fought well but it was not enough for a better result, getting broken two times in the opening set before raising his level.
