Jeremiah Fears finally had the type of game he knew he was capable of. It wasn’t enough to get the New Orleans Pelicans a Summer League win, but it was a glimpse of the type of player Fears can be. Fears did a better job shooting and distributing the ball in the 95-81 loss to the undefeated Oklahoma City Thunder Wednesday night in Las Vegas.
While Queen wasn't in the lineup, another notable college rookie did get a prominent role. Hunter Dickinson, a two-time consensus All-American in college, scored eight points and added seven rebounds, three assists and three blocks in 26 minutes.
The rookie center impressed again as Portland improved to 2-1 in summer league play. Rayan Rupert led all scorers with 24 points.
It was a standout performance from Carton, who came off the bench to match the team lead in dimes and pace the Trail Blazers in steals. The 24-year-old guard isn't currently under contract with an NBA club after spending most of 2024-25 in the G League,
