Sony Pictures has landed a new film project that is coming from Godzilla Minus One director Takashi Yamazaki titled Grandgear . He is set to write and direct the film with J.J. Abrams and Bad Robot producing.

Following a competitive bidding war, Sony Pictures has landed the project Grandgear from Godzilla Minus One director Takashi Yamazaki and Bad Robot.

Yamazaki earned plenty of praise thanks to his previous movie. Godzilla Minus One opened with Kōichi Shikishima ( Ryunosuke Kamiki) suffering a traumatic experience due to an encounter with the titular monster.

After a competitive bidding battle, Sony Pictures has secured the rights to Grandgear, a project helmed by Godzilla Minus One director Takashi Yamazaki. The film has officially been greenlit with Yamazaki set to write,
