We're talking about the Hawkins High School graduation speech made by Dustin (Gaten Matarazzo), who took over the ceremony with a rousing tirade against the system that had his fellow students cheering and Principal Higgins (Bill Winkler) scrambling for the mic.
Variety reports that “Purple Rain” has seen a 243% increase in global Spotify streams and a 577% increase in Gen-Z streams since the finale arrived. Meanwhile, "When Doves Cry," which also features in the episode, saw a 200% increase in global streams and a 128% boost in Gen-Z streams.
