Arsenal’s long search for a centre-forward is almost over, with the club on the brink an agreement with Sporting Lisbon to sign Viktor Gyokeres.

Arsenal are in the process of completing a deal to sign Viktor Gyokeres after taking final steps in negotiations with Sporting CP for the striker. Talks have been prolonged by Sporting president Frederico Varandas refusing to accept what Gyokeres believes was an agreement to leave this summer for €60million plus €10m of add-ons.

Sporting president says striker Viktor Gyokeres is facing disciplinary action after he did not report for pre-season training with his potential transfer away from the Portuguese club becoming "more complicated".
