CARDIFF, Wales (AP) — Oasis ended a 16-year hiatus on Friday with a punchy, powerful trip through one of Britpop’s greatest songbooks, kicking off a reunion tour in Cardiff, Wales to a crowd ecstatic for the band’s 1990s hits.

The show was the first of the Live ‘25 tour, which will run for 41 dates - 19 of which are in the U.K. and Ireland. The group will perform Saturday night (July 5) in Cardiff before heading to Manchester, London, Edinburgh and Dublin; the tour will then run through North America, Asia and Australia and conclude in São Paolo, Brazil, on Nov. 23.

The pioneering Britpop band’s world tour — marking the first time famously feuding brothers Liam and Noel Gallagher have played together since 2009 — kicks off on Friday night in Cardiff, Wales, at Principality Stadium. Richard Ashcroft from the Verve is the opening act alongside Liverpool-based band Cast.
