The Fighting Irish advanced to their first national championship game since 2013 after a late interception set up a game-winning 41-yard field goal

Notre Dame outlasted Penn State 27-24 in Thursday's Orange Bowl that won't soon be forgotten. The back-and-forth affair had pretty much everything as Notre Dame kicker Mitch Jeter put the Irish ahead for good with seven seconds to play and sent the Fighting Irish to the national championship game.

Mitch Jeter hit a go-ahead 41-yard field goal with seven seconds left, which was set up by a Christian Gray interception at the Penn State 42-yard line with 33 seconds left to play.
