At least six people have died and 25 have been hospitalized amid a listeria outbreak that's spread to 18 states. The outbreak is believed to be tied to prepared pasta meals from Nate's Fine Foods, which were distributed nationwide, according to the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
The recall includes both individual fruits and multi-packs of peaches sold under the brand Moonlight Companies, according to an alert on the Food and Drug Administration website. Some yellow peaches sold under the Kroger brand name are also affected by the recall.
The recalled products are associated with 27 cases and 6 deaths, including a case in North Carolina. Here's what we know.

Snowfruit Peach Salsa recalled over potential listeria exposure
( NewsNation) — JFE Franchising has recalled products containing California-grown yellow and white peaches, including a peach salsa sold at Kroger, citing potential listeria contamination.
The FDA has announced a recall for Moonlight Companies’ California-grown yellow and white peaches due to possible Listeria contamination. The fruit was sold between September 16 and October 29 at stores including Trader Joe’s and Kroger.
The federal agency issued the notice on October 30, and to date, no cases of Listeria infection linked to the recall have been reported.
