The House-approved budget bill includes proposals for significant spending cuts to Medicaid and new work requirements.

The governor said 310,000 Pennsylvanians could lose Medicaid and another 140,000 SNAP benefits if President Donald Trump‘s so-called big, beautiful bill becomes law.

A House Republican bill would require Medicaid recipients to work, volunteer or be enrolled in school for at least 80 hours a month.

Advocates are bracing for potential cuts to Georgia’s safety net programs under the GOP’s “big, beautiful bill” moving through Congress, though it remains to be seen what changes to programs like Medicaid will end up in the final version.

Republicans are touting House passage of a megabill to fund Trump’s agenda as a win for Americans. Democrats slam it as benefiting the rich and hurting low-income people.
