Lineman killed on the job in Griffin remembered as a hero
The 52-year-old Navy veteran and city of Griffin lineman lost his life at work in a tragic accident Wednesday. Weems was a lineman for the city for more than 19 years. It was a job he truly loved.

“I really do love my job. I get to go out and do what I love,” Weems told a cameraperson. “And to be able to help others...you can’t beat it.” He goes on to describe what it’s like to be a lineman: hard days of dangerous work. But that he wouldn’t change it.
