A 5-year-old girl who fell overboard off a Disney cruise ship reportedly fell backward through a porthole. The investigation is continuing into the incident that happened June 29 as the ship was returning to Fort Lauderdale after a four-day cruise.

On Sunday, June 29, an unidentified 37-year-old dad leapt overboard to rescue his 5-year-old daughter after she fell from the cruise ship's fourth floor. After finding her in the ocean, he kept her afloat until a small boat manned by crew members was able to retrieve them from the water.

The Disney Dream rescue team pulled the girl and her father into a small boat on Sunday as the cruise ship was returning to Fort Lauderdale, Florida, from the Bahamas on the last day of the voyage, according to Disney and passengers who recorded the rescue on video.
