The fossil, estimated to be about 70 million years old, was buried 763 feet below the surface and unearthed because of a drilling project.

Officials stumbled upon a 67-million-year-old dinosaur bone beneath the Denver Museum of Nature and Science during a drilling project, the DMNS announced on Wednesday.

This dino-mite find, which Hagadorn described as "quite the cherry" on top of the project's intended mission, was discovered 763 feet below the surface and was identified as the "deepest and oldest dinosaur fossil ever found within the city's limits," the museum said in a press release.
